My name is s.e. smith, and I am passionate about making things. Specifically, I love the experience of making things come alive in text, whatever they may be. Thomas Paine once said that the pen is mightier than the sword, and that’s an idea I can get behind. There’s something mystical, powerful, and intensely exciting about the written word, and the ability it has to transcend boundaries.

I hold a BA from Goddard College and am a writer and editor living and working in Northern California. My work has appeared in publications like Bitch Magazine, Feministe, Reproductive Health Reality Check, Global Comment, and The Guardian. My interests lie primarily in the area of social justice—I am especially interested in gender, feminism, disability rights, and the intersections thereof.
